Disneyland in Second life-Place Description

The castle is my favorite scene in the Disney Land. This castle makes me think of lots of famous Disney movies, such as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and so forth. Besides, I always image that I could be a prince, hold the princess's hand and walk into the castle where I want to live a happy life with my princess.

Disneyland in Second Life-Character Sketch

I find a statue of Mickey Mouse who I think is the ruler of Disney Land. He is the most important character in the Disney Land because of two reasons. Firstly, he is always on the side of the goodies. Whenever he encounter something injustice, he would uphold justice and help the poor. Secondly, the Disney Company uses his head as an Image of Disney. Whenever I see the Mickey’s head, I would associate it with Mickey and Disney cartoon. All in all, because his characteristic is worthy of imitation, and his appearance stands for the Disney Company, there is no doubt that he is the ruler of Disney Land.

Dress Up & Walk On The Deck of The Virtual Titanic!

Most of people wear suit or tuxedo to take part in the formal occasion. Viewing each man, we would see they all wear in a dark color. It looks like every man wears the same clothes. In order to make a difference with others’ dressing in the formal occasion in 1912, I would like to dress the current, modern times, casual clothes to get on the Titanic. I believe that my modern dressing will catch everyone’s eye on me. I wear a blue shirt, a jean, a necklace, sunglasses, sneakers, and I also carry a rucksack. They are my favorite clothes and accessories. By the way, I carry a rucksack because my mom told me that the original way to prevent the theft is to carry around the valuable goods.

Lunamaruna

Coming to Lunamaruna, I thought that I was entering my dream. Everything was cartoonish. It’s a fantasy land where some things might not be possibly come true in the real world. There are two things which impressed me most. The first thing was that there were some creatures which were different from reality. For instance, the manta rays were levitating their bodies in the mist; the pufferfish was circling in the air; a dolphin was smoking a pipe and swinging the rocking chair forward and backward. The second thing was that the buildings were leaning. Inside the buildings, there were some room themes, such as the chemistry laboratory, the control laboratory and so on.

In Lunamaruna, what made me exciting was that I met the creator of Lunamaruna coincidently. He’s an American and his avatar was an otter. The female – sitting beside him – was also an American, and she’s a professor who taught art and design at university. I chatted with them for about an hour. The artist told me the reasons of creating Lunamaruna and naming the world Lunamaruna. The reason of making this world was that he wanted to put his masterpieces on to the 3D world, and to shared them with others. Besides, the reason of naming this world Lunamaruna was that “Luna” means moon in Spanish and “maruna” means brownish red color. That might be the reason why everything looked painted and had dark colors in this fantastic world.

Music

This is the most interesting class because we had a music class with a talented musician. Jason who is not only an English teacher, but also a musician taught us some vocabulary of the instruments and some vocabulary of the equipment of the concert.

Most interestingly, Jason shared his experience of making songs. He told us that he wrote songs because he wanted to express his emotion. I think it’s interesting because most of us express our emotion by writing diary or blog. Writing songs to share with others one’s own views is quite a special kind of thing. I think I should try to make songs to share my feelings with my friends. By doing so, maybe I will find out myself is a talented songwriter.

Christmas Celebration

We have a topic of Christmas in this time. When starting the instruction, Jason asked us some representative objects which we could associate with Christmas, such as Christmas tree, stockings, gifts, mistletoe, candy cane, sparkling garlands, evergreen and so forth.

During the instruction, there is a question I want to know for a long time; I have the chance to ask for this time. That is, western people exchange or give gift on Christmas; however, Chinese people exchange or give red envelop - with money inside of it – in Chinese New Year. For western people, which one does foreigner prefer, gift or money? Jason responded me that for his own opinion, he likes both because we sometimes receive the gifts which we don’t really want, but if we get money, we can use it to buy something we want.

Thanks for Jason’s instruction, through Jason’s instruction of Christmas, I have a deeper understanding of the story and activities on Christmas. By the way, I found that there are some features alike Chinese, such as having a reunion, and making good wishes for the following year. I think whatever culture is, people might do these two things in their new year.
